Your Name (Japanese: 君の名は。, Hepburn: Kimi no Na wa) is a 2016 Japanese animated romantic fantasy film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai, and produced by CoMix Wave Films. It was produced by Kōichirō Itō and Katsuhiro Takei, with animation direction by Masashi Ando, character designs by Masayoshi Tanaka, and music composed by Radwimps.

As others have pointed out. Mitsuha (17) was 3 years older than Taki (14) when she went to Tokyo to look for him. Mitsuha (17) was the same age as Taki (17) when they were swapping bodies. Mitsuha (25) was 3 years older than Taki (22) when they finally met on the stairscase in Tokyo.
Even though Mitsuha is dead, Taki's connection with her remains—all because of that red yarn thread. Remember: that thread carries with it Mitsuha's connection with Itomori. So when Taki returns to where the town once stood, he knows to return to the shrine where Mitsuha left her kuchikamizake.

Mitsuha, Teshi and Sayaka die too. The school is left unharmed and so is the shrine. This is how it ends for Mitsuha in Timeline 1. She dies.
During the main story, it's pretty obvious that Tessie had a crush on Mitsuha. However, it is later shown during the alternate timeline that Taki and Mitsuha created that he and Sayaka are engaged. Tessie is not shown anywhere during the 2016 main story.

Taki cried because he lost his connection to Mitsuha. If you don't believe me, watch Shinaki's 'The place promised in our early days' or just read the wiki plot. Mitsuha cried because she planned the date with Miki and Taki, but she wanted the date to be with herself and Taki, aka she loved him.
